Bubble Cleaning: Speedy Hacks to Keep Your Home Sparkling Clean

The only art that I am both good at and enjoy, is the art of cleaning. Cleaning is the one activity that I can do and shut off my mind completely. Cleaning and organizing your space does not need to be a daunting task. Over time, I have discovered strategies to create a cleaning routine that is quick, effective, easy, and enjoyable. These strategies are simple methods that keep my space sparkling without stress.

Bubble 1: Start with a Cleaning Schedule

Cleaning can feel overwhelming without a plan. Trying to do everything all at once can be overwhelming. I like to break my chores into bubbles that are manageable. I assign specific tasks to different days of the week. Let these assignments be flexible because you never know what may come up.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Saturday: Vacuum & Mop

  • Tuesday: Dust, Cat Litter

  • Sunday, Wednesday: Laundry

  • Friday: Deep Clean Bathroom

Bubble 2: Declutter First

As talked about in an earlier blog decluttering is so important. I like to go through room by room and put away anything out of place. A quick declutter makes cleaning easier.

Bubble 3: Multitasking Cleaning Products

Simplifying your routine with versatile cleaning products. I use windex or all purpose cleaner that can be used on counters, mirrors, drawers, and sometimes floors. This effectively saves time and reducing the times you have to switch out products.

Bubble 4: Clean as You Go

Having a bunch of messes everywhere can be stressful, by cleaning and picking up as you go, you can avoid the pile up.

  • Kitchen: Put dishes in the dishwasher while cooking and wipe down counters after the meal is done

  • Bathroom: I use a squeegee on the shower doors right after I turn off the water and wash out the sink after brushing my teeth

Bubble 5: Speed Clean

I do this every single day to prevent build up. Set up a 15 minute timer for each room, start at the top and work down.

  • Wipe down all surfaces

  • Vacuum

  • Take out trash

  • Dust

Bubble 6: Handle High Traffic Areas Daily

I focus on areas that have the most use, like the living room, bathrooms, and kitchen. A quick vacuum or wipe down in these spaces can your home look tidy without doing a deep clean everyday

Bubble 7: Make It Fun

Cleaning doesn't have to be stressful, I find there are some ways to make it fun and calming.

  • Play uplifting music turning cleaning into a dance/singing session

  • Set rewards, for example I only let myself have a snack or sit down once a task is done

I hope that incorporating these hacks into your routine keeps your house fresh, organized, and stress free. Cleaning doesn't have to be a dreaded chore, it can be a satisfying way to create a space that you love.
